Services
what we do
As a water and sanitation services provider, we envision a world in which every peri-urban and rural community has sustainable access to clean water and safe sanitation services
1
Solar pumped boreholes
We are developing ground water sources in various places and use them to either do individual metered connections, communal water points or water vending stations or through water bowsers
2
Decentralized surface water treatment facilities
In areas where there is surface water, we utilize sustainable technologies to treat, store and distribute surface water
3
Rain Water Harvesting
We are developing large scale rain water harvesting schemes, treat and distribute the same through individual connections, communal water points or water vending stations.
4
Public Sanitation Facilities
We are developing sanitation facilities in rural towns and market centers based on ‘pay to use’ principle.
5
Decentralized Sewerage Treatment Facilities
In standalone residential areas where we supply water, we are developing decentralized sewerage treatment facilities and charge the uses as part of the water bill.
6
Smart Water Kiosks
We partner with communities to rehabilitate and commercialize community water projects by installing solar-powered Smart Water kiosks, where community members buy water using mobile money recharged tokens.
OUR PROJECTS
Popote Sanitation Program 2022-2025
With a development loan from Popote capital amounting to 5 million USD to develop decentralized solar powered sewerage treatment systems in 12 urban centers in 6 Counties namely Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Muranga, Makueni, Kitui and Machakos. The program will recycle water for re-use in greening the urban centers and pilot the use of sludge to make artificial aggregates for making light weight concrete.
Sustainable Water Program (SWAP) 2022-2025
In partnership with ewater services (www.ewater.services) we are on a mission to install 120 smart water villages in Kenya by 2035. Maji Popote in the implementing partner for SWAP program in Tharaka Nithi, Embu and Muranga counties.
Popote Community Water Supply Program
In Partnership with Tharaka-Nithi County government, Maji Popote will rehabilitate 20 community boreholes, lay water distribution pipelines and construct smart community water kiosks. The project will cost USD 800,000 and is financed by Project Maji.
Popote Peri-Urban Water Supply Program
The 9 months program will be financed Aqua-for All through the National Bank of Kenya. We are partnering with Earth View Systems to develop 10 boreholes in Peri-urban areas in the Nairobi Metropolitan and install 2000 prepaid house hold connections.
