About US

Who We Are

As a water and sanitation services provider, we envision a world in which every peri-urban and rural community has sustainable access to clean water and safe sanitation service.

We are a private water and sanitation services provider that strives to bring sustainable access to clean water and safe sanitation services in Kenya through smart solarized water kiosks, Prepaid house hold connections, decentralized waste water treatment facilities and public sanitation facilities. Currently operating 3 peri-urban water supply schemes with over 360 house hold connections and 6 community water schemes with 32 water kiosks, cumulatively serving over 4500 people, we are on a mission to provide access to safe water to over 10 million people by 2050. To reach this goal, we identify idle or broken-down boreholes, solarize them and install smart water kiosks where community members access water at a fee, collected through mobile based payment systems. We partner with County governments and Community Water Committees rehabilitate existing systems and develop new systems; partner with real estate developers to provide decentralized water and waste water facilities in gated communities and we intend develop bulk water supply systems and supply water in bulk to public and other water utilities under water purchase agreements.

WHERE WE WORK

Our focus is in rural and peri-urban areas in Kenya. Currently, we are running 3 peri-urban schemes in Rongai, Syokimau and Ruai with 3 more schemes under construction in Kiserian, Ngong-Kimuka and Kamulu all in the cosmopolitan Nairobi area.

Our rural schemes are in Tharaka Nithi, Embu and Muranga counties and plans are underway to expand to Isiolo, Marsabit, Makueni, Machakos, Kitui, Taita Taveta and Tana River counties by 2025.

How we Work

For Rural Schemes:

We partner with county governments, communities, water works development agencies, public water utilities and non-governmental organizations to identify projects that require interventions or underserved areas, jointly develop sustainable solutions and implement using repayable funds from our financing partners. Once the solutions are implemented, we commercialize the schemes either through prepaid metered house hold connections or communal water points and collect revenue through mobile based payment systems. The revenue collected is used to operate and maintain the systems and the surplus invested to expand the water supply and sanitation network.

For Peri-Urban Schemes:

We partner with property developers in high density residential gated estates to develop water supply and decentralized sewerage treatment systems where public utilities do not exist. We connect individual properties to our systems and charge for the service through a prepaid metering system for water and post-paid system for sewerage connection based on water consumption volumes.

Mission & Vision

Mission: We utilize innovative strategies to increase accessibility to Water and Sanitation Services where public services are not available.

Vision:  We aspire to become the largest private water utility providing sustainable water and sanitation services all over Kenya.
